Being a cat in a household with more than one cat is hard work! For the most part, Manna and Dexter have a great relationship. Manna has treated Dexter like he is her own kitten since we brought home. She loves having another kitty to play with.
Things become trying when it comes to sharing the spotlight. While Manna is very energetic for being 10 years old, Dexter’s 1-year-old kitten energy can be overwhelming. Dexter always wants to play and demands quite a bit of attention from everyone.
After taking photos for our latest post about Wellness cat food, I tried to get a few solo photos of Manna. It went quite well for a couple of minutes! Manna’s gorgeous green eyes were sparkling in the sunlight. However, Dexter realized that Manna and I were playing with a fun toy and he had to crash the photo shoot.
Manna has been amazingly patient with her hyperactive little brother. She puts up with a lot of Dexter’s antics without making a fuss. If it wasn’t for her facial expressions, you would never know that Manna was annoyed. Check out the serious side-eye that Manna is giving Dexter in the photo below!
What is a kitty to do? Everywhere Manna goes, Dexter is sure to follow. The truth is that he loves Manna more than anyone. He has studied everything she does since they first met. Manna has a loyal fan that just won’t leave her alone.
Perhaps one day, Dexter will calm down and give Manna a little space. Until then, I do my best to sneak in as much one-on-one time with Manna as I can. She may be a little annoyed by his constant presence, but she gets upset if they are separated for too long!
