Life is no fun without some silliness! My cats make sure that my life stays interesting. Manna and Dexter have a very childlike sense of wonder about the world that comes with a great sense of humor. Sometimes I think they do things just to make me laugh.
Dexter has had a lot to say lately. He has finally developed a voice, though it is a very small, quiet voice (hear it in our silly sing-along video). It takes a lot of effort for him to get any noise out. What does he use all of his noise making efforts on? Yelling at his toys and other inanimate objects. In the photo below I caught him letting out a “massive” meow at his ball track toy.
Once Dexter had shown that ball track a thing or two, I tossed him a pipe cleaner. These are some his favorite toys to chase! There is also something that he finds very offensive about straight pipe cleaners. He goes into a frenzy twisting them up as much as he can.
Just for the fun of it, I had straightened the pipe cleaner before I tossed it to Dexter. It wasn’t perfectly straight, but the intent was obvious. He took this as a direct challenge! The pipe cleaner never stood a chance. Just look at the intensity in that stare!
Of course, a kitty must be sure to maintain his handsomeness even in the midst of a fierce battle. In between attacks on the pipe cleaner, Dexter made sure to clean between his toes. He believes that cleanliness is next to catliness. You can’t properly win a battle against a toy if you have dirty feet. This silly little guy gave me a ton of laughs and definitely won his battle against the pipe cleaner.
