Are you ready? The BlogPaws® Conference is coming up very soon! If you haven’t heard, I’m a BlogPaws Conference Ambassador this year. One of my favorite parts of going to the BlogPaws Conference is getting to meet and network with all of the sponsors. Each year I have spent most of my time at the conference getting to know them. I think there are 5 very important reasons why you should want to engage with the Blogpaws Conference sponsors too!

Weruva will be back sponsoring the coffee bar again this year!

The BlogPaws Conference has a number of great sponsors every year. The BlogPaws Conference sponsors are pet-related brands and organizations that help to improve the lives of pets. They sponsor the networking events, the Nose-to-Nose Awards, meals, snacks, the coffee bar, and represent their brands in the exhibit hall.

Reason #1: BlogPaws Conference sponsors care about their products and the people who promote them.

Wellness is going to be back this year too!

At the 2nd BlogPaws Conference that I attended (in Nashville, Tennessee), I had an experience that caught me off guard. I stopped at one of the sponsor’s booths and began asking about what was new with their brand. The representative stopped me and said “I remember meeting you last year. You are so beautiful.” It took me by surprise that she remembered me specifically even though I was only one of hundreds of faces she had undoubtedly seen in the past year.

The BlogPaws Conference sponsors are willing to put both time and money into telling influencers about their brands and to meet influencers in person. They don’t just send random emails to bloggers whose blogs they’ve never looked at asking them to promote a product. Sponsors give out products to try at home (swag), answer influencer’s questions, and offer opportunities to work with their brands. These sponsors are invested in finding the influencers that can really make their brands shine.

Reason #2: It helps you to stay on top of what is happening in the pet industry.

These were some of the adoptable kittens at last year’s BlogPaws Conference!

As with every industry, the pet industry is always changing. There are so many more products, services, and organizations available today than there were 10 years ago! BlogPaws Conference sponsors bring the best of what they have to offer to share with you.

I make a point of it to visit all of the sponsors in the exhibit hall when I am at a BlogPaws Conference – not just the cat-specific ones. That’s right, I visit the “dogs-only” sponsors too. Why?

  • Sometimes trends that start in a species-specific part of the industry spread throughout the whole pet industry. It is fun to see what may be coming for cats someday soon!
  • You never know when a sponsor is planning to expand their brand. More than once I have spoken to a “dogs-only” brand and found out that they were going to release cat products over the next year. As it turns out, my business card was one of very few they had on hand for promoting those products when they were released.
  • Often sponsors use PR representatives to show their brand to influencers. These representatives can end up moving from brand to brand in between conferences and take your information with them.
  • I know people who have other species of pets -especially dogs. Sometimes being an expert in something is really being an expert in connecting a person with the information, products, and brands that can help them the most. People come to me all of the time asking about different pet industry brands and organizations.

My advice to other bloggers and influencers – meet all of the BlogPaws Conference sponsors that you can!

Reason #3: BlogPaws Conference sponsors often generously give to pets in need.

Red Roof Inn is sponsoring a great event for BlogPaws Conference Attendees this year.

One of the great things about the BlogPaws Conference sponsors is their generosity. During the BlogPaws Conference, donations are made to animal rescues, shelters, and other pet organizations in need. Some of the sponsors have programs with their brands for giving back to pets in need built right into purchases of their products.

Do you know an animal shelter or rescue in need? The BlogPaws Conference is a great time to stop and ask sponsors about how they might be able to help a pet charity that is near and dear to your heart. It is worth always worth asking. You may be able to work out a campaign with your blog and/or social media that could benefit the sponsor as well as your favorite animal charity.

Reason #4: The sponsors make the BlogPaws Conference possible.

This year’s keynote speakers are going to awesome!

The BlogPaws Conference has had a big impact on the pet blogging community. I, like many others, have learned much of what I know about blogging through BlogPaws. This conference is unique in the way it brings together sponsorship opportunities for pet bloggers (which can be few and far between in other places) as well as education. Getting to meet other pet enthusiasts in person is a great experience too.

Without the BlogPaws Conference sponsors, the BlogPaws Conference would not be possible. Supporting the sponsors by meeting them, trying their product, following them on social media, and talking about the products that impressed you keeps the BlogPaws Conference coming back every year.

Reason #5: Networking with sponsors connects you to the pet industry.

For a blogger that wants to make money with their blog or just work with brands, being trustworthy is very important. Anyone can start a website. There are billions of websites out there. What makes yours stand out? Why would a brand entrust the promotion of their product to your and your blog specifically?

By networking with the BlogPaws Conference sponsors, you put your blog on their radar. When you meet with them in person at the BlogPaws Conference, you show that you are willing to invest in your own brand as well as theirs. You become an official part of the pet industry. It is so much easier to trust a person whom you have seen face to face!
