Celebration Time!

It’s a very important day! My little Dexter was born one year ago today. He is a sweet little kitty that has brought a ton of love and laughter to my life. I couldn’t be happier to have him in my family.

How did Dexter come into my life? A friend of my husband, James, had taken in a pregnant cat that he just called “Momma”.  James knew that I had lost my cat, Cinco, and I was going to look for a friend for Manna very soon. He invited me over to see the kittens and I was completely in love with them. They were a beautiful group of social kitties! It was a litter of one girl and 3 boys.

James’ health was fading and he asked me to take one of the male kittens as soon as they turned 8 weeks old (June 2016). I couldn’t wait! When we came over to choose a kitten, I set my cat carrier on the floor. I started playing with the kittens and giving them treats to see which kitten would choose me. Dexter crawled into my carrier and didn’t want to leave, so we took it as a sign that he was our new kitten! James passed away only a few weeks later.

Dexter has changed a lot physically since that first day, but his personality is very much the same. He is a very happy guy that sees the best in everything. When he gets tired, he likes to rub his nose against mine and get a good cuddle from me. Singing and whistling to him gets him really excited. Manna is his favorite person ever (and she loves him too)!

I can only imagine great things for Dexter coming in the future. It has taken way to long to pull everything together, but he will be getting that big surgery (neuter) in about a week. He will also be going to the BlogPaws Conference with me! Plenty of pawsomeness is on the way.

I finished the word search in 2 minutes and 26 seconds. Can you do it faster? ProProfs (the service I use for the word searches) says that they will be fixing the scoring very soon. Currently, you are receiving points per word that you find rather than by how quickly you find them. That is why everyone always gets the same score.
