It is almost here! The BlogPaws® 2017 Conference is being held from May 18-20, 2017, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This year I am both a BlogPaws 2017 Conference Ambassador and a speaker! It is possible (though I can’t make any promises yet) that Manna and Dexter will be making an appearance with me at the beautiful Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel. This could be the best conference yet!
Why I Chose to Be a BlogPaws 2017 Conference Ambassador
My relationship with the BlogPaws Community began only about a month after I began blogging in 2013. I found a link to the BlogPaws Community on the sidebar of another cat blogger that had been interacting with me. The idea of being a part of a community of people who both loved pets and blogging about them was perfectly in line with my goals.
After I joined the BlogPaws Community, I began learning a ton of great information about blogging. The other pet bloggers were super welcoming, supportive, and helpful. I would have to say that the bloggers in the BlogPaws Community have taught me almost everything I know about how to be a successful blogger.
When I heard that BlogPaws had a conference, I knew that I had to go. My blog wasn’t even a year old when I went to my first BlogPaws Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2014. When I saw the lineup of speakers, topics, and brands, I knew that what I could gain there would be priceless.
Confession time – I was really nervous about going. I’m from Michigan, so it was going to be quite a trip to Las Vegas. I had never really traveled by myself before, I had never been west of the Missippi before, and I’m really introverted and I knew I would be rooming with someone I had never even spoken to on the phone before. There was no testing the water, I had to jump in with both feet.
Luckily, I have a husband that is very supportive of my dreams. He encouraged me to do whatever I could to get to the BlogPaw Conference. When I expressed worry about the money, he reminded me to think about how I could multiply that money with my blogging income. He believed like I did that I would gain the tools and connections to make my blog bigger and better.
The Benefits of Attending the BlogPaws Conference
Not only did I end up going to the BlogPaws Conference in Las Vegas, but I’ve been to 2 others since (Nashville, Tennessee, 2015 and Pheonix, Arizona 2016). This year promises to top them all! I’ve gotten to learn and do a lot of things because I’ve been at the BlogPaws Conference. Here are a few reasons why all pet bloggers and pet influencers should attend the BlogPaws 2017 Conference:
- Technical knowledge
Want to know all of the technical ins and outs of blogging? Improve your SEO? How to blog with WordPress? There are sessions planned for the BlogPaws 2017 Conference that will help you navigate all of the tricky parts of being on the internet. If you’re like me, you’ll find out that there is a lot of things you didn’t know that you didn’t know.
- Creative strategies
Writing, images, video and other art forms are a big part of blogging. Some of the educational sessions at the BlogPaws 2017 Conference will be able to help you to develop your art. Not creative? That’s okay. These sessions are developed with the people who need help most in mind. The Cat Writer’s Association will have speakers and representatives there to help with your creative ventures as well!
- Inspirational speakers
Every year the BlogPaws Conference invites keynote speakers that are leaders in the blogging and social media world. This year you will get the opportunity to hear from Marketing Strategist, Kathleen Gage and the most retweeted digital marketer in the world, Jay Baer. These keynote speeches will give you the opportunity to see how they do the amazing things they do!
- Networking with other pet bloggers
It is one thing to meet and interact with another blogger over the internet and something completely different to meet them in person. Pet bloggers are some of the most interesting and compassionate people in the world. When you come to the conference, you will have the opportunity to make a lot of new friends that love pets the same way you do.
- Meeting brand representatives in person
Is working with brands one of your blogging goals? Meeting the representatives in person goes a long way in establishing a working relationship with the brands you love. It also helps you to learn about the brands that are out there! There are so many great products out there that just haven’t made it in front of you yet (you will get to take a lot of products home to try yourself).
- Pushing your personal boundaries
Reaching your goals is possible. All great works take time and hard work. Going to the BlogPaws 2017 Conference can help you develop the tools and relationships you need.
- Awards & Celebrating pets
The BlogPaws 2017 Conference will be celebrating the best of the best in pet blogging and social media. Check out the finalists for the Nose-to-Nose Awards this year! The Cat Writer’s Association will be holding an award ceremony too. As always, the pets will shine throughout the whole conference.
