My cats know what they want and they know how to get it. Manna and Dexter have been working as a team to satiate all of their kitty desires since Dexter was just a little kitten. It was amazing to watch them work together to open the pantry and get to the cat treats! These cats are smart.
Manna and Dexter have a system. Manna tends to be the brains behind the operation. She knows where we hide all of the yummy stuff. Dexter is the brute strength. He can climb anything. Manna will push open the pantry door, Dexter will climb up to get the goodies, and knock them off the shelf. The two scheming kitties then rip into the bags and take their treats.
You would think that I would have learned after having seen the teamwork put forward by Manna and Dexter. For the most part, I have. I’ve relocated many items to the high cabinets in the kitchen. However, I put the can of Cloud 9 Silvervine in the cabinet near my desk. When I got up this morning, I found this.
The cats had not figured out how to remove the screw top lid, but it turns out that the can is fun too. When they saw me walk into the living room, they gave me their big Puss In Boots eyes. Apparently, I am useful for my thumbs at least.
How could I say no? Those eyes reeled me in and I put some silvervine on a couple of toys. The happiness was immediate!
The tagline for our blog is “Cats, Tips, and Catnip Trips”. Someone once asked me what a “catnip trip” was. Manna summed the answer up quite nicely in just one photograph. This may have been silvervine, but it still counts as a “catnip trip”.
