It’s play time! One of the things that I love about the relationship that Manna and Dexter have developed is how much they play together. Cinco and Manna played together, but not nearly as much as they played separately. I think Manna finally has the playmate that she has always wanted.
Manna has no trouble at all getting Dexter to play with her. They have their own cute little ways of communicating to each other. Manna has a special meow that will bring Dexter running into the room! Of course, a little bit of scratching on one of the scratching posts or a crazy eyed look will do the trick too. Today, Manna gave Dexter the crazy eyes just as he was walking past her castle.
The look worked! Dexter couldn’t resist running right over to start a battle. They love to play this game where Manna stands in the castle and Dexter tries to get in with her. It doesn’t matter whether Manna has chosen the top or the bottom platform. Manna considers the whole castle to be hers. The whappy paws were flying (no claws or hissing of course)!
Dexter just loves trying to take over anything that Manna claims. If she is sitting in a box, he will come over and wrestle with her. He leaves the box as soon as she does and he’ll stay as long as she stays. I suppose he is the typically annoying little brofur!
No kitty battle is complete without dramatic faces. Manna has always been great at those dramatic faces, but Dexter is getting pretty good too. I believe that in this week’s funny cat picture, Manna is letting Dexter know that she is the queen of the castle. He may just have to find a castle of his own! When we get our new cat tree, I’m going to have to figure out how to incorporate some of the design elements for this castle so that these two can continue their favorite games.
Do your cats have games they like to play together?
