Growing More Every Day!

It has been a few months (which is an eternity in kitten time) since I updated everyone on Dexter’s progress in life. Can you believe that my little Dexter is now 7 months old? For me, time is flying by. It seems like we just added him to our family!

Dexter is growing so fast! He is officially bigger than Manna. I’ve got to get an official weight on him, but he is definitely taller than she is. If he keeps going at this pace, I can imagine him becoming a pretty large cat. It is likely that he will be every bit as big as Cinco was.

Another interesting development is that he has a bushy tail. His tail is much more of a plume than Manna’s tail. It appears that he has a layer of longer hair developing in his tail and maybe even a little in his britches. I’m wondering whether this is just a winter coat coming in or if he will have a bit longer of a coat in general when he is full grown. It is interesting to watch!

Manna shows quite a bit of affection towards Dexter. I feel that she may have truly adopted him as her own kitten. Sure, he annoys her sometimes, but they interact in a social way a lot more than Manna and Cinco ever did. I still catch her grooming him all the time. Both of them initiate play with each other. They will eat from the same dish at the same time with no fighting at all. Actually, I may need to curb that a bit because Manna has lost a little weight.

Dexter’s personality is developing nicely too. He is a very sweet kitty that takes in all of the affection he can get. There isn’t a mean bone in this kitty. He gives us nose boops, grooms us, loves to be petted, loves belly rubs, enjoys being held (sometimes he wants to be held like a baby), and can’t get enough play time. Dexter is pretty fearless and doesn’t let anything get in his way when he has a goal. He also makes a great nurse cat. I’ve been sick over the last week and a half and he has made sure I’ve gotten lots of snuggles.

I finished the word search in 1 minute and 6 seconds. Can you do it faster? ProProfs (the service I use for the word searches) says that they will be fixing the scoring very soon. Currently, you are receiving points per word that you find rather than by how quickly you find them. That is why everyone always gets the same score.
