What would your cat do for a delicious treat? My cats, Manna and Dexter, would do almost anything! The Friskies® Pull ‘n Play Pack (available at Petsmart) offers a way to combine the two things that my cats love most – treats and play time. They were excited to give it a try! Your cat might want to try it too.
Enriching Play Time With Treats
Puzzle toys, like the Friskies® Pull ‘n Play cat toy, are toys that require your cat to think in order to gain a reward. They are a lot of fun for cats! These toys help your cat to exercise his/her hunting skills and keep their brain working. For older cats, who may be beginning to lose some of their cognitive abilities, mental exercise can be really important.
Some cat owners like to use puzzle toys to encourage their cat to exercise. Cats can get lazy sometimes! If your cat will do anything for their favorite treat, a puzzle toy might just help them to get up and move a little. They will have to work to get that treat, but it will be worth it! Of course, if weight loss is the goal, the nutritional value of the treats and amount of treats allowed must still be monitored carefully.
In the case of Dexter and Manna, I use puzzle treats to help Dexter learn to slow down. Dexter is a kitten and he likes to devour his treats as quickly as possible. Swallowing the treats so quickly sometimes causes him to hiccup or regurgitate the treats. Using a puzzle toy forces him to slow down because he can only eat the number of treats that he has gotten out of the toy (which is usually only a few). It makes me feel a lot better to see him eating at a regular speed. It is good to see him becoming so smart too!
Friskies Pull ‘n Play Pack
Manna and Dexter were given their very own special Fall Limited Edition Friskies Pull ‘n Play Pack. This version of the Friskies Pull ‘n Play Pack comes with an orange headed Wobbert the Wobbler (the regular one is green). The pack includes:
- a Wobbert the wobbler cat toy
- a 1 oz package of Pull ‘n Play edible strings
- a 2.1 oz package of Friskies Party Mix Original
Play Time with Wobbert
Wobbert is the puzzle toy part of the Friskies Pull ‘n Play Pack. The bottom is weighted so that he stands upright and requires a good swipe of the paw to knock around. There is a little bit of a jingling noise as he rocks around! A small hole near the bottom of Wobbert allows the treats to fall out as your cat plays with him.
Wobbert’s head screws off so that you can easily pour treats into his body. There are also two small holes in Wobbert’s head that allow you to thread Pull ‘n Play edible strings through his head. Pulling on the strings is another way your cat can knock treats out of Wobbert!
Friskies Party Mix & Pull ‘n Play Edible Strings
The Friskies Party Mix Original that comes with the Friskies Pull ‘n Play Pack is the same cat treat mix that Friskies lovers have come to enjoy. It includes cat treats with chicken, liver and turkey flavors. The small, crunchy cat treats come in an assortment of shapes. Manna liked this part of the Fiskies Pull ‘n Play pack the best!
Friskies Party Mix Original Ingredients
New with the Friskies Pull ‘n Play Pack are the Pull ‘n Play Edible strings. These strings feel and behave more like jerky than strings. They are thick and tough, yet flexible (rather than limp like strings). Dexter preferred to bite them into pieces rather than pull on them, but every cat is different. Use discretion with cats that are prone to eating actual string.
The strings come twisted together in a rope. There are 9 strings in each rope! They are available in Chicken & Cheese, Salmon & Shrimp, and Tuna & Crab flavors.
