When it comes to plants, there aren’t too many that interest my cats. Cinco and Manna have seen roses, tulips, bushes, and trees, but never thought anything of them. Then there was cat grass. They had never had cat grass befoe they tried Whisker Greens™ from Pet Grass®. They loved it, but the question is did they love it too much? Let’s start at the beginning.
When We First Received Whisker Greens™
About a month ago, Cinco, Manna, and I received our order of Whisker Greens cat grass in the mail for review. It was beautifully packaged. There were 3 plants in a resealable plastic bag with 3 stylish cardboard covers for the pots. The plants were very well groomed and healthy.
The instructions on how to care for the Whisker Greens cat grass plants are great! Even a person with a brown thumb, like me, can care for the plants. There are no seeds or potting soil to mess with and no waiting for the grass to be ready to munch. Simply water the plants a few times a week by placing the plants (in their plastic pots) in a shallow dish of water. The water sucks up through the bottom to avoid over watering! Then the cat grass could be placed around the home or back in the plastic bag and put in the refrigerator. The bag allows the plants to have just the right amount of moisture.
Both of my cats really enjoyed the cat grass. It is healthy for them too! It acts as a source of dietary fiber to help things, like hairballs, make it through the digestive tract. It also contains protein, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, and antioxidants! Whisker Greens uses 100% certified organic seed to grow their cat grass. It is rotated through their greenhouse so that it gets just the right about of sunlight.

How We Use the Cat Grass
I wanted my kitties to have access to the Whisker Greens cat grass all the time, so I placed it near their cat tree. This location worked well for me because my sliding glass door is really the only window we have that gets decent sun exposure. I placed the plants on the floor so they would be easy for Cinco and Manna to get to and not so likely to be knocked down. The cardboard covers for the pots went really well with our brown and white Thanksgiving theme.
For Christmas time, we have decided to try something new. We purchased some really cute Christmas tins that are just the right size and placed the plants in them. They look really festive! It is like they are a decoration made just for the kitties to enjoy.
Why You Should Consider the Pet Grass Subscription Service
Now for the good news and the bad news. The good news is that Whisker Greens says that the cat grass will stay vibrant out in your home or in the refrigerator for 2 whole weeks! It has been about a month and our Whisker Greens plants are still alive. I think I may be getting good at this whole plant thing. The cats have been munching on them this whole time too.
The bad news is that my cats (especially Cinco) love Whisker Greens cat grass way too much. They have munched it to little nubs in some parts and flattened other parts of the plant. I told my husband that I wanted to get some round pots and paint them like Animal from the Muppets because the cat grass reminds of his wild hair. He thought the Christmas-themed pots were a better idea.
Cinco seems to think that the best way to solve our cat grass problem is to get him some new Whisker Greens plants! Wouldn’t your kitty demand the same thing? Luckily, not only a single delivery of cat grass (3 plants) for $24.99 but they also offer a subscription service that discounts each delivery (3 plants) to $22.49. No kitty has to ever deal with half-chewed cat grass anymore! You don’t have to remember to go out and get new cat grass either because Whisker Greens can deliver it to your door every week, two weeks, 3 weeks, or every month. Whisker Greens can be ordered from their website and you can follow them on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Use the promo code PlayfulKitty10 and you’ll receive 10% off on your order!
